Living in Fresno means you get first dibs on all of it. You don’t need to find a farm to get your hands on these goods (although you totally can). Luckily, there are plenty of farmer’s markets around town that bring the goods to you. Support the community and treat yourself to some amazing food at any one of these locations.
River Park Farmers Market
Tuesdays 5 pm-9 pm and Saturdays 10 am-2 pm River Park Farmers Market always has a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Located in between Yoshino’s and H&M, there is a wide variety of local vendors and food trucks to choose from. Fresh roasted corn, vegan tacos, homemade BBQ, plenty of sweet treats, and of course fresh local produce. With so much variety you’ll be sure to satisfy the whole family.
Vineyard Farmers Market
Wednesdays 3 pm-6 pm and Saturdays 7 am-12 pm “Fresno residents are fortunate to have this cathedral-like structure devoted to fresh local produce,” stated by executive chef of Chez Panisse and farm-to-table pioneer Alice Waters. Vineyard Farmers Market boasts a wide variety of delectable fresh fruits and vegetables grown on small family-operated farms from around the valley. You’ll also find fresh baked goods from La Boulangerie, fresh-squeezed juices, and the wonderful aroma of Fabiano’s Coffee Roasters. Vineyard Farmers Market is sure to delight all five of your senses.
The Market on Kern
Wednesdays 10 am-2 pm Operating from May through October in downtown Fresno, on Kern Street between M and N streets. Enjoy the vibrant sights and sounds of beautiful downtown Fresno as you peruse through the best of local farmers and craft artisans. Click here for more information.
Tower Farmers Market
Thursdays 11 am-2 pm Located in the parking lot next to Detention Billiards on Olive Ave, this seasonal farmers market offers fresh fruits and vegetables as well as specialty artisan crafts. Click here for more information.
Manchester Farmers Market
Fridays 10 am-4 pm Open year-round in the Manchester Center parking lot, at Blackstone and Shields. Here you can find lots of fresh produce as well as a plethora of Mexican food vendors. You can even catch a puppet show or the Fresno County Bookmobile every first Friday of the month.
Old Town Farmers Market
Fridays 5:30 pm-9 pm and Saturdays 9 am-11:30 am Friday night farmers market runs from May through September; the smaller Saturday market operates year-round. There are plenty of specialty food vendors on hand-Butternut Bakery, Ninik’s Natural Foods, Good Time Kettle Korn, and Mattie’s Pizza, just to name a few. Old Town Farmers Market supports the NOSH program which provides fresh food to local pantries through its “eat one-give one” program- a truly noble cause.
Kaiser Permanente Farmers Market
From 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March through November, starting at 9 a.m. from December through February. Fresno Medical Center, 7300 N. Fresno St. "With all kinds of vegetables and fruit for sale, there are also baked goods, handmade soaps, and flowers.
